Workplace Wellbeing
Helping your people thrive, and your business with them

The business case is clear

Workplace sickness costs UK businesses over £100 billion every year¹. For small businesses, the median annual cost of employee absence is £27,964, nearly 2% of average turnover². Poor mental health alone accounts for an estimated £42-45 billion of that figure³, with 22.1 million working days lost annually⁴.

Behind every one of those statistics is a person struggling, and a business feeling the impact.

The good news is that investing in workplace wellbeing works. It reduces absence, improves productivity, supports staff retention, and creates a culture where people genuinely want to show up.

A different kind of wellbeing support

Occupational therapy is about supporting people to engage in meaningful occupation and activity, which can include work. Occupational health shares that same focus on the relationship between health and work. As a Registered Occupational Therapist, I sit at exactly that intersection. Whilst occupational health encompasses a broad range of professionals and services, including some clinical and medical assessments that fall outside my scope, my focus is on the functional, practical and person centred support that helps people engage meaningfully with their work.

I can help when someone's health is affecting their work, or when work is affecting someone's health. My approach is solution focused, inclusive, and grounded in real clinical experience across both physical and mental health. It is not a medical model. It is about breaking down barriers, supporting people to stay in work, and helping organisations build environments where everyone can contribute and thrive.

What I offer

Team Wellbeing Workshops

Practical, engaging workshops tailored to your team, available from one to three hours and delivered in person or remotely. Topics include sleep and rest, stress and resilience, mental health awareness, neurodiversity, communication, work-life balance, sensory and environmental wellbeing, and inclusion. As a sleep specialist, I bring particular depth to the sleep and rest topic, though this is just one area of a broad and flexible catalogue.

If none of the standard topics feel quite right, I also offer fully bespoke workshops built around the specific needs and challenges of your team.

Workplace Assessments and Reasonable Adjustments

Practical assessments that look at how an individual functions within their role, drawing on discussion with both the employer and employee alongside other relevant information. These assessments identify barriers and recommend adjustments that make work more accessible and manageable. This includes DSE and ergonomic assessments and support for staff experiencing physical or mental health difficulties.

Return to Work Support

Practical, personalised support for employees returning after illness, injury, or a significant change in health. Drawing on my background across physical and mental health, I can help both the individual and the employer identify what support is needed and put the right adjustments in place. A phased return may be recommended following assessment where appropriate.

Supporting the Ageing Workforce

Practical strategies and adjustments to help experienced staff continue contributing meaningfully as their needs change over time.

Accessibility and Inclusive Recruitment Consultancy

Advice and assessment to help organisations create environments that are accessible and welcoming, supporting inclusive recruitment and long term staff retention.

Ongoing Wellbeing Support

For organisations looking for consistent, wellbwing support over time, I offer bespoke packages built around your specific needs. Following an initial consultation, we will work together to design something that fits your organisation. This might include regular team wellbeing workshops, drop in clinics where staff can access confidential 1:1 support, team surveys to identify emerging needs, and ongoing access to specialist input. Every package is different because every organisation is different.

Who is this for?

I work with small businesses and teams. Whether you are a business owner responsible for everything, a HR professional looking for specialist input, a freelance HR consultant supporting multiple organisations, or someone responsible for organising team events and team building, I offer flexible and tailored support that fits around your needs and budget.
